BOTOX

Say goodbye to wrinkles, and embrace a more confident, radiant you.

Hundreds of thousands of men and women each year are choosing to look younger with the help of injectable wrinkle relaxers. In the Spokane area—non-surgical wrinkle injections such as BOTOX® Cosmetic, remain a popular choice among people looking to revive a tired appearance and retain the look of youthful vitality.

LUXE. Medspa offers BOTOX® Cosmetic, Xeomin® and Dysport® – – all popular injectable treatments to help minimize signs of fatigue and reduce the look of facial lines and creases by preventing muscle contractions.

What is BOTOX®

Botox is short for botulinum toxin type A, an effective blocker of nerve impulses. The chemical can be targeted at specific muscles that create lines and wrinkles in the face, while surrounding muscles remain unaffected. If you are sensitive to the fine lines that come with aging, Botox is an excellent option for you to explore.

It is noninvasive and relatively painless and is performed at our Medspa in Spokane.

Botox injections create a more youthful appearance by relaxing the muscles that create wrinkles. Most commonly, patients use Botox to eliminate crow’s feet around the eyes, wrinkles on the forehead, and frown and laugh lines.

Botox is manufactured by Allergan Inc. (USA)

How Does BOTOX® Work?

A combination of factors can cause facial lines. It’s not just about the cellular changes that may occur, or reduction of collagen, or damage caused by free radicals from the sun and the environment.

Repeated muscle contractions from frowning, squinting, or raising eyebrows cause skin to furrow and fold, gradually resulting in the formation of facial lines. BOTOX® Cosmetic works beneath the surface and temporarily reduces the underlying muscle activity that causes moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines in adults – to help them look better.

Who is a candidate for wrinkle relaxers?

BOTOX® can be an excellent choice for patients over the age of 18 who want to address specific concerns, such as frown lines, forehead wrinkles, and crow’s feet. It is not recommended for patients who are pregnant, are nursing, have certain medical conditions that affect the muscles, or are allergic to ingredients contained in BOTOX®. It’s important to maintain a positive outlook and realistic expectations for how your skin can be improved. Wrinkle relaxers won’t change the basic bone structure of your face, but it can make the skin appear smoother and more youthful.

Frequently Asked Questions

What to expect with treatment
Some patients receiving BOTOX® Cosmetic report the injections feel like a pinch. You may begin to notice a visible smoothing of frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines within 24 to 48 hours, with full results in 30 days lasting up to 4 months for moderate to severe frown lines.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is not a permanent treatment. If you discontinue treatment the moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines will gradually return.

How does Botox work?
These injectables are neuromodulators, meaning they prevent muscles from receiving signals that cause them to contract. Once they are injected, the neuromodulators keep the muscles relaxed, which then softens the appearance of corresponding expression lines.
Are injectable wrinkle treatments safe?
Botox, Dysport and Xeomin are FDA-approved products for wrinkle treatment. All are proven in clinical studies.

Xeomin, Dysport and Botox are widely considered to be some of the safest cosmetic treatments available today.

It’s important to discuss your concerns with certified professionals to determine which injectable is best for your needs.

They will be able to select the most appropriate injectable with the least number of injections.

Is treatment painful?
Both Botox injectables are delivered using an incredibly fine needle; most patients report the treatment as relatively comfortable. Some patients are more sensitive to pain, and in those cases, numbing, or a topical anesthetic can be used to eliminate any discomfort.
Is there a long recovery process?
As the solution is applied with a thin needle, the treatment won’t require any incisions or sutures. Patients will be able to return to their work or go home immediately after the procedure. Some patients do experience some swelling and soreness at the injection sites, but these side effects are only temporary. If swelling and soreness do occur, they should dissipate within a day or two.
Who's the Ideal Patient for Wrinkle Relaxers?
Treatment can be used for patients of all skin tones and skin types. Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding or suffering from neurological disorders should avoid using neuromodulators. Patients who want to reduce the appearance of expression lines or those who want to treat conditions like migraine headaches, temporomandibular joint disorder, excessive sweating, and more, and ideal patients for either Xeomin or Botox. Expression lines are the wrinkles and lines that develop due to constant muscle movement. Years of facial movement lead to the development of crow’s feet, frown lines, laugh lines, and other fine lines.

Each patient must have realistic expectations following the procedure. Remember, you will still look like yourself, just an improved version of yourself.
